The Spanish wind turbine manufacturer, Gamesa, is closing its Ebensburg, PA plant on March 31st.
Gamesa USA officials said Tuesday that the closure of the 8-year-old Cambria County plant was prompted by a shift in the market from Pennsylvania and the Midwest to the southwestern United States.
The market may be shifting in their eyes, but what is really happening is it’s shrinking in the US as tax incentives dry up. What is shifting is public sentiment away from wind energy as the true cost to taxpayers and ratepayers becomes evident.

It’s obvious that these Turbines are dangerous, the ice throw alone should prohibit their proximity to the public. The setbacks are dangerous , just look at what other States are doing to safeguard their population. We do not have these protections in place ! It is less than 5 miles from the ridge by I-90 to the Lakefront. Our water shed and Aquifer System is going to be impacted because of the construction of these turbines. Read the reports on the destruction this construction causes. What will happen to our pristine waterways? Would anyone willingly trade acces to their own water well for some lease holder to profit from our loss of property values and water wells as well as our safety????
