According to reports just received, Pioneer Green Energy sent letters to current lease holders in North East informing them leases allowing wind turbine construction on their property will not be renewed. The reason given is Pioneer’s belief there is not enough support in the current United States Congress for wind energy.
Following the recent FAA decision to deny extensions for construction permits, these letters indicate the North East wind turbine project may now finally be over.
Pioneer Green Energy has failed to build wind projects throughout the US. Their projects have stopped in California, Alabama, Maryland and now, Pennsylvania.
Wind developers are facing the simple fact that without massive subsidies to the wind industry, there is no wind industry. It just doesn’t work.
UPDATE: Pioneer Green Energy stated the leases have been terminated, they are not waiting for them to expire at which time they would not be renewed. The leases have been cancelled.

Looks like Pioneer Green’s continuous stream of lies have come back to haunt them.

The residents of North East, PA just dodged a bullet. It is a very good thing not all residents were apathetic about this threat to our community. The entire ridge south of Sidehill Road would have been blinking red every night for generations to come in order to generate money (and not much electricity) for a few at the expense of the overwhelming majority. The color red is appropriately symbolic of the blood of migratory birds, raptors and bats which would have been slaughtered in an ongoing selfish orgy which would have been brought to fruition by a bunch of out-of-town lawyers and fellow crony capitalists who likely would have sold the project to another company at their first opportunity. This, quite possibly, after having enjoyed a great big laugh behind our backs due to the division, hardship, feuding, strife, broken friendships, broken relationships, unrest, personal stress and chaos created by piggish wind project scams, practically no matter where they are proposed.
